I'm here with the owner of the camper, and we're going to be installing some new steps on his camper forum because he has said that they're a little bit difficult to use. Give me some instances that make these steps that are on here a little bit difficult for use Well, the main thing is they don't come down for now. When I first bought this thing the very first day, I had to go get a little step to help me get up to these steps. So anytime I go somewhere, which I live in this, and I have to get that extra step out to assist getting onto these steps. more

Basically these are going to be a collapsible step for your RV, this is going to be a four step with a bonus step configuration and this comes in two different entryway sizes.So we'll have this one which I have deployed out here expanded so you can get an idea what that's going to look like. This is going to be for 28 inch wide entryways, and we'll have another one that's exactly the same way in every respect except that it's meant for 24 inch wide entryways.The only difference between the two is going to be that width. So our step is going to be a little bit shorter on this one than this one, but all the heights, all the other numbers are exactly the same and all the other features.So the really nice thing about these steps is that they are a scissor design so they're going to collapse in and fold out so that we can get them deployed even in close quarter situations. more

It's totally usable as a four-step, but there's just that extra piece you have to do to deploy that every time. more

Hi there fifth wheelers. Today on your 2008 Keystone Montana Mountaineer, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install TorkLift's GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps. For comparison, here's our old steps. As you can see, there's only three steps versus our GlowSteps will have four, making it easier for you to get from the ground into your RV without having to take such a big step. Also has landing gear on it to provide more support at the end of the steps, where there's no landing gear present on our factory steps here. And then of course there's the added benefit that our GlowSteps glow in the dark, where these are just black, and they're difficult to see at night.Now right away, I can tell the difference that your new steps are much sturdier than our old steps. more

Review of Lippert Components RV and Camper Steps - Quad SolidStep - LC791574- Video
Today, we'll be taking a look at the Solid Step Manual Fold Down steps. These are going to be a quad style step and these are a really great improvement for your RV's typical step that doesn't touch the ground. This is going to be, as the name suggests, a very solid step to get up into your RV and back down.Now I have this just kind of resting on that table but you can take a step here and it's really solid. I'm having to really move it around and it doesn't really want to move at all but it feels very secure even just resting right here. It's a solid nice stable step.The thing that's nice about this is that you don't have to worry about mounting it underneath your RV and causing any clearance issues there. It's just going to mount into the entryway of your RV and then fold down whenever you need. more

Today we'll be taking a look at the Victory Step manual fold down steps. These are going to provide an easy way to get into your toy hauler patio or that party deck that comes out of your toy hauler, or your fifth wheel camper. A lot of times whenever you have that patio deployed out, you then have to walk around to actually get out onto that patio and just costs you some extra steps, makes it a little bit annoying and can't really utilize the full benefit of that patio space.So this is going to give us a step specifically for that. It just attaches via the little brackets up there at the top, and those are pretty easy to take up. We'll just have these two latches, so we can lift those up, drop it, down them down into place on either side. And then your steps are ready to go. more

Today, we're gonna take a look at the Tork Lift Glow Step Camper Scissor Steps with landing gear. Now, this is going to be a two step configuration, as you can see, and it comes with the landing gear, to make it a lot easier to get your steps connected to the ground, so you don't have to worry about using shims, or wooden blocks and fumbling around with it every time you go to deploy your steps out.These are going to be adjustable, so we'll have six, or five different adjustments here to make, they're all about an inch apart, and the feet rotate forward and back so we can get those dialed in, so we even on uneven terrain, we can still get our steps connected to the ground and make them a lot more sturdy.Now, the steps themselves are going to be made of a lightweight construction, it's made of durable aluminum, with the stainless steel hinges, so we don't have to worry about any rusting or corrosion. But, it's also light weight enough that it's really easy to transport and lift into your RV and deploy out. So, even for using this on a truck bed camper, an RV, toy hauler, anything like that, these are gonna be a really easy step to use. They just collapse for whenever you're not using them.And then this bracket here at the top is going to be bolted to your vehicle that you're hauling this with. It does not come with any mounting hardware, so you will have to get that on your own, but it's gonna be a very compact step, whenever we're done with it, you can just fold it in on itself, making sure not to pinch ourselves. more

So we listened, simply put. RVers had to settle for the common RV entry step that hadn't been updated in decades, because quite frankly, that's all that was available.Clearance on the old standard entry steps has always been an issue. When the entry door is open, the RVer has very little clearance between the door threshold and the first step. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2012 Forest River Georgetown XL Motorhome, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you, how to install the Lippert Components Kwikee 25 Series Triple Electric Step, that's gonna be Part Number LC3658373.Having electric steps on your RV is a really nice thing, whenever we need to get in, we can open the door and our steps should come out, but then at the same time, when we close the door, they should retract. Now, as you can see, ours are having a little bit of an issue, they keep binding up on us and it's a really intermittent operation.Our new Kwikee 25 Series Steps are gonna make it a lot easier for us to get in and out of our motorhome, because they're gonna operate whenever we open the door, our steps will extend down, and then whenever we close the door, they'll retract back in. And you see, they're gonna have that nice, smooth operation.And the way they're gonna work, is they're gonna have a two-part switch, one is gonna be on the outside of the door, right here, which is gonna have a magnet, that'll signal the inside switch. And the inside switch is gonna be mounted onto the inside of the door jamb, and it'll find that signal and let the steps know whether to retract or extend out.Now, our steps are also gonna have a manual switch, so we can turn the steps off if we like to keep em' out all the time, so we don't have to worry about them going back in when we close the door. Now, our motorhome already had a switch built in, so we didn't wire it up, but if we turn the switch off, it will cut the power off to our steps, and then when we close the door, the steps will stay extended out.Our steps are gonna have a lot of built in safety features, so in case we forget to turn that switch back on, and when we close the door to drive away in our motorhome, the steps are gonna automatically retract as soon as we put the key into the ON position. Now also, as another added safety feature, our steps are gonna extend the first time that we open the door after the key is in the ON position, that way we don't have to worry about falling out of the door.And sometimes, whenever we're parked close to a curb, and we go to open our door, our steps may come in contact with that curb, luckily though, there's gonna be a control unit on the motor which is gonna prevent any kind of overheating and too much amperage draw, and it'll actually cut power. more

As you can see, again, this is gonna have the three steps there, and this is a powered RV step. So one of the really nice features about this step in particular is that it does come with the feature of having an automatic door-open. So with this little sensor here, you'd attach one side to your door, and then the other side to the inside of your RV, and power that up. And basically, they just fit together. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the TorkLift GlowStep Stow N' Go scissor steps with landing gear. This comes with six steps and a white bracket.Now the biggest advantage to your GlowStep Stow N' Go is the height that's going to be available for your in bed, truck camper. So a lot of times there's a big gap between that camper door and the ground, this is going to take up that gap and provide a really strong connection between your camper and the ground. As you can see, even with it just propped up here, it's really not moving around too much, these are really solidly built.They are made of an aircraft grade aluminum, so they're going to be lightweight, but also very durable. It's also nice because we're not going to have any rust issues, you don't have to worry about them creating a mess in your camper over time. Again, they're going to be pretty lightweight, so it's not going to be too hard to get those collapsed up whenever you're ready to travel, or expanding them out.Whenever you are ready to travel, these are going to secure with a little rubber strap here on the bracket as you can see there. more

All you have to do is pull the step out for use, and then position it back in for travel. You want to grab here in middle, rotate it up, and it folds into a travel position. Then again, when you're ready to use it, you just take it, and bring it out to the in-use position.It does feature the slotted surface design, so that provides sure footing, and anything that you track on here does have a way to escape off of the actual platform. Then here at the front, we have a 1/2" grip strip near the edge that provides additional traction. We're looking at a nice steel construction. more

Speaker 1: Today you're going to be taking a look at the lifter components quickie 36 series single electric step. Stepping up into your RV can be a bit of a challenge. Especially if the steps aren't working. That's where our replacement steps are going to come into play. With our step installed, when we open the door it's going to automatically come out allowing us to step in easier getting in our RV but at the same time when we close the door, they're going to automatically retract making sure they're not going to catch on anything when we're driving down the road.Now from the top where it's mounted behind this panel, our step is going to drop down a total of five inches. In our application and the step we're using is going to be 24 inches wide by 10 and three quarter inches deep. more

On each platform there are two grip strips. That provides good grip and sure footing. There's also three holes in each platform, so if you track moisture, dirt, anything on here, it does have a way to escape.Now, the unit's made from an all steel construction. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2015 Jayco Pinnacle Fifth Wheel we'll be having a look at and installing the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Scissor Steps with Landing Gear, Part No. TLA8004.Now what sets these apart from other manufacturer steps or the factory steps on your fifth wheel or your travel trailer, is that these offer the ultimate in stability and security and safety for when you're traveling up them into your trailer. Now we're getting this extra stability and safety because our steps are making contact with the ground with our built-in landing gear right here.The main reason the factory steps are lacking on most fifth wheels or travel trailers is that we don't have a landing gear here that makes our bottom step have contact with the ground and that makes it very unstable when we're getting in and out of the trailer. When you initially step onto your factory ones that don't have them, you can see how much they move and how unstable they are and I'm not a big guy but you can see that I'm getting about two inches deflection just stepping onto them.Now with these steps being manufactured out of a light weight aircraft grade aluminum, they are extremely easy to handle, maneuver, put in and out of a store position. Simply lift up on the bottom step and start pushing it on in. Use your knees or your thigh to help brace it. more

Right now I have the steps in the in use position, to move it to stowed position, all you have to do is lift up on the bottom one, fold it up, grab the handle, and push it in. That's really all there is to moving it to stowed position when you want to extend it out to the in use position, definitely use that grab handle that's what it's there for. It keeps your hands clear and free of any other moving components. So you grab this, you pull it out and all you have to do is unfold that step and that's all there is to it, it's ready to be used.It automatically engages into the in use position and locks into a stowed position. more

Today we'll be taking a look at the Torque Lift Glowstep Revolution Scissor Steps with landing gear. Now, what sets these apart from other manufacturers' steps, or the factory steps on your fifth wheel, or your travel trailer, is that these offer the ultimate in stability and security and safety, for when you're traveling up them into your trailer. Now, we're getting this extra stability and safety because our steps are making contact with the ground with our built-in landing gear, right here. The main reason the factory steps are lacking on most fifth wheels or travel trailers is that we don't have a landing gear here that makes our bottom step have contact with the ground. That makes it very unstable when we're getting in and out of the trailer. When you initially step on your factory ones that don't have them, you can see how much they move and how unstable they are. I'm not a big guy. You can see that I'm getting about two inches deflection just stepping on to them. Now, our landing gear have five settings to adjust for uneven terrain. more

This is a single step design, it's a manual operated RV step that makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. In order to put it in the end use position, all you have to do is grab here on the center, it's obviously going to be a little bit easier once it's actually installed. It just simply comes out to the end use position, has these tabs that engage to hold it in that position for ultimate safety. Then when you're ready to move it to the stowed position, all you have to do is lift the step up and rotate it into the stowed position until it locks into place. So that way when you're traveling it's going to stay in this position. You don't have to worry about it slipping out back into the end use position. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hickory Springs manual pull out step, the manual operated RV step makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. In order to use it, all you have to do is pull out right here on the step and it automatically engages into the end use position. When you're ready to position it back in for travel, again just lift up, easiest right there in the center and then move it back to the stowed position until the step locks into place. It's a really nice design and again automatically engages into the end use position and locks in the stowed position. You'll notice that right here on the top of the step it features a rigid surface that's going to provide sure footing, it also has two grip strips that provides additional traction for safety. Now the step itself is made from an extruded aluminum, so that's going to be lightweight and rust proof, so lightweight construction makes it pretty easy when extending and retracting the step. The framing on the unit, that's made from steel, as well as the linkages, those are made from steel and then that's going to have a black, powder coated finish on it which is going to protect it from rust and corrosion. It's an easy bolt on or weld on installation. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lippert Solid Steps. Now the Solid Steps are a great solution when it comes to a convenient way to get in and out of your RV. These steps are going to feature a really unique design. There's going to be a hinge that runs here. Now I do have that hinge kind of pulled out. That way you can get somewhat of a decent view of it, but it's just a hinge plate, and that actually goes up underneath this top portion so it's fully hidden with a nice solid design there. But this unique design with the hinge allows the steps to be folded up and stow inside the RV's entry door. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Lippert Manual Pull-Out Triple Step for RVs. This manually operated RV step makes it easy to get into and out of your motor home. Simply pull out the steps for use and then position them back in place for travel. Really nice design. Each step surface is going to feature two strips of non-skid tread tape that's going to provide sure footing so you won't slip as you get into and out of your RV and a nice rounded edge at the front of each step really helps do a great job at eliminating sharp corners. I also want to mention that each step is going to have two channels on it. These channels do a great job at trapping dirt and moisture, keeping your feet elevated and then there's drain holes at the end of each of those channels for all of that stuff to escape. When you're ready to move it into a stowed position, this step flips up on top. more
